Wedding day flowers are so beautifully presented and perfectly arranged
for a couple of hours until they all get thrown away after the event.
One organization took this wastage and turned it into a positive and
philanthropic organization, giving the flowers a second life. Shameless
actress Emmy Rossum decided to take advantage of this service and donate
her flowers after her stunning wedding ceremony.
On Memorial Day weekend, Emmy tied the knot with ‘Mr. Robot’ creator,
Sam Esmail in a private affair in New York City. She later revealed
that she had decided to donate the flowers from her event to Repeat
Roses. The organization collects and picks up flowers from events around
the United States and then hand delivers them to hospitals, nursing
homes, children’s homes and other places where they bring a little piece
of happiness to a person in need.

The organization was started by Jennifer Grove, the past owner of
high-end wedding boutique and events design company, Sky Blue Events,
and grew increasingly frustrated seeing all the beautiful, expensive
flower arrangements being disposed at the end of the day. As a result,
she opened Repeat Roses in 2014 and has managed all areas of the
business from branding and sales to business development and technology.
When Emmy and Sam donated their flowers, they gave away a combination of
garden roses, ranunculus and peonies which were then recreated to give
away to patients and staff at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Grove spoke of
the act saying that they “graciously donated their reception table
centerpieces, which we repurposed overnight into 28 arrangements, and
delivered first thing the next morning to the Phyllis and Lee Coffey
Geriatrics Department at the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mt.
Sinai Hospital.”

Grove further commended the newlyweds stating “We love their love
story and are so thrilled they started their new chapter as newlyweds on
a sweet note of kindness by giving back to the local community.”
