While we'd heard various rumors surrounding Quentin Tarantino's upcoming film, details of its plot had been kept somewhat under wraps – until this weekend, that is.
Up to this point, it had been hinted that the movie was set to be based around the horrific murders carried out by Charles Manson's cult of followers and that it was set to star what looks like the ultimate dream cast.
But after a reported leak, we've learned a little more about the legendary filmmaker's ninth feature.
[post_ads]According to Vanity Fair, the movie is set to be based on the Manson murders – but not as we first thought. As the publication explains:
"Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino’s upcoming movie, according to a source who read the script, focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business.
His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story."
We seriously can't wait to see who is going to be starring as the star-seeking duo but it looks like we're going to be in for a bit of a wait as the project is currently concentrating on finding a new studio after parting ways with the Weinstein Company.
Among those rumored to take part in the feature are Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and even Tom Cruise. At this point, it is not clear if anyone will be playing the role of Charles Manson, who died this week aged 83.
The film is expected to drop in 2019.
