A ‘curvy’ German squirrel found himself stuck in a manhole cover earlier this week. Apparently, he got halfway through before his hips (which definitely do not lie), revealed the unfortunate truth that they just aren’t small enough to fit through the cover.
Therefore, the poor soul found himself stuck and hanging from the manhole cover. Fortunately, some kind soul came through and called animal control, who showed up with a fire hose and a bottle of olive oil. Seriously, the rescuers lathered up the slick squirrel with enough oil to make a salad and discovered that cartoon hijinks are not the solution for getting yourself out of a tough situation.

In the end, the creative heroes lifted the heavy cover and slid the poor beast out the way he came in, proving the age old adage that sometimes simple solutions are best.
After the encounter, the squirrel was wrapped in a warm towel and fed glucose, according to a local media report. Locals have additionally decided to call him ‘Olivio’ after his oily encounter.
