Volcanoes are probably some of the most terrifying aspects of mother nature, as they have the capability of destroying an entire civilization overnight. Take, for example, Pompeii, which was once a bustling metropolis full of Roman citizens and authority. Unfortunately, one fateful night; August 24th, 79, Mount Vesuvius erupted, destroying the entire city and killing all of those unlucky enough to be stuck within the area at the time of eruption.
