When it comes to dealing with important forms and paperwork, it’s always best to stay organized. Nothing could do more harm than having a certain document turn up missing when it’s needed most, after all. It’s still plenty possible for accidents to happen, even when professionals are involved — which would explain why one woman has to cycle between two hospitals.
Jackie Sayce is no stranger to knee problems; she’s had to deal with a faulty left one since she was three, but years of treatments have forced her to need medical help for her right. Taking care of her knees — and her hip, by extension — was well within the realm of possibility, but the problem has only been compounded. Lost paperwork, health board stipulations, and rejections for treatment at her preferred hospital in Llandough means that she has only one option: her left knee has to be treated there, while her right knee and hip have to be treated at a hospital fifty-four miles away.
Sayce’s frustration has long since been noted, and rightly so. Her condition has yet to improve, several of her appointments have gotten lost in the shuffle, and she’s had to deal with the medical mix-up for almost three years. There’s no telling when she’ll be relieved, but one can only hope she gets the help she needs — and deserves — soon.
