An Indian mining village witnessed a strange and quite hilarious
scene, when a leopard with its head stuck in a pot started making its
way around the village. According to witnesses at the scene, the animal
spent nearly six hours trying to get its head out of the pot before
local officials came and rescued it.
The incident occurred in the
village of Sardul Kheda in Rajasthan, a region that is popular for
leopard sightings. India is famously known to house nearly 14,000
leopards in the country, with a large number of the magnificent felines
making their way to nearby towns and cities on a regular basis.
Forest officials in the area who heard about the leopard managed to make
their way to the animal as quickly as they could. They eventually
tranquilized the leopard and sawed the pot off its head. District forest
officer Kapil Chandrawal said: “It has been brought to a safe place. We have also called veterinarians to assess its health, which is in good condition.”
The three and a half year old leopard was eventually taken to a safe distance away from the village and set free.
