93-Year-Old Man Eats Lunch Everyday With A Photo Of His Late Wife

By Charley Frank, IFLMyLife

[post_ads]There are some heartwarming stories that we hear that prove that chivalry isn’t dead. A 93-year-old man proved that true love never dies with his small gesture that filled the hearts of so many around him. Just four years ago, Clarence Purvis tragically lost his wife of 64-years, leaving him alone. Purvis missed his wife so much that he decided to keep a part of her with him every single day.

Purvis met his wife Carolyn when they were teenagers in 1948. From then on, they decided to spend every moment of their lives together in Glennsville.

They went on to have three children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and they even spent time together in business. Carolyn and Clarence were the co-owners of Purvis Garage, so whether they were living privately at home or working in their business, they were always together.

Clarence added that they would “Eat lunch, come back, watch television, go to bed, love one another. What more you want? We had everything we wanted.”

When Carolyn passed away, Clarence was devastated that their 64-years together were over, so he made it last in any way he could. From this, Clarence would take his wife’s photo and place it next to him for everyone to see while he ate out for lunch daily.

Purvis said of their love, “Ain’t nobody loved one another more than me and my wife loved one another, I wanted what she wanted and she wanted what I wanted.” The gesture did not go unnoticed and many people in their town were warmed with love after seeing the display.

Purvis also makes the effort to keep Carolyn’s memory alive to the point that he drives to her grave at Glennville Cemetery four times a day and keeps her favorite lamp on in their living room at all times.

Purvis said of his dedication and commitment, “I love her that much, and miss her that much. And think she would agree with me.”
