Beauty Vlogger Uses a Broken Hanger to Create Cut Creases

By Sarah Kinonen, Allure

Remember how, just the other day, we were saying we thought we'd seen it all when it came to DIY beauty hacks? (Ahem, marshmallow beauty blenders....) Yeah, well, we were wrong. The laundry list of questionable at-home makeup tricks continues to grow, which is kinda giving us a headache, TBH. The latest hack to take over the Internet? Hangers. As in, plastic hangers to create a cut crease, an eyeshadow look that involves tracing a sharp line across the crease of your lid and blending it upward to create sharp, defined effect.

[post_ads]Beauty vlogger Khloe Dosh revealed her secret to flawlessly creating a seamless cut crease in an Instagram video, giving fans a first-hand look at her unconventional blending method à la plastic hanger. "I was about to throw my broken hangers out and was like 🤷🏾‍♀️ EFF IT," she wrote in the video's caption. "Let me get this cut crease poppin lol."

The hack itself involves placing the hook of a plastic hanger — in Dosh's case, a broken turquoise hanger — over the crease of her eye. From there, the vlogger blends a burgundy eyeshadow shade around the hook of the hanger, creating an arch over the top half of her lid. After removing the hanger, Dosh continues to create her shadow look by blending a base shade onto the lower portion of her lid using a small flat brush. She then sweeps on a rich blue shade over the top of the base, making sure to the line the burgundy and the blue. The result is a perfect, two-toned cut-crease look.

Who knew a hanger could do anything but hang our clothes (and piss off legendary actress Joan Crawford)? While we're not racing to our closets to try the trick at home (we're still partial to our blending brushes, thank you very much), we've got to applaud Dosh for her ingenuity and giving this hack a go — she certainly know how to keep things fun.
