Did you know baby jaguars are born blind and helpless and rely on their mother to be fed and protected from danger until they’re about two or three years old and can hunt on their own?
[post_ads]So when two three-week-old jaguar cubs got lost in a sugarcane field, their mother frantically searched for them for days because she knew they had no chance of survival without her. Yet before she was able to find them, a local farmer from Somatwadi village in Maharashtra, India, discovered the two babies lying helplessly in the middle of the field.
The Wildlife SOS rescue team arrived and brought the cubs to the Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Center and examined them to make sure they were healthy. [post_ads_2]Since they were healthy, the team wanted to try to reunite them with their mother. The two babies were placed in a transfer crate and placed in a spot their mother had recently been seen.
As rescuers hoped, the mother Jaguar could smell her babies and came running out of the forest soon after they were placed down on the ground. Once she finally saw them for the first time in days, she quickly took them out of their crates and carried them back into the forest.
