10 Things You Never Knew You Were Using Wrong

Ketchup Cups

While you might find that ketchup cups don’t hold enough sauce normally, you can unroll the edges in order to double the size of the cup, without any overflow.



Toothpaste

While most people think you need to smear toothpaste along the length of the brush, dentists have said just a small blob on the end is enough. Toothpaste companies show going the whole brush because it uses more toothpaste.



Extension Cords

If you loop an extension cord with whatever you are plugging into it, as shown above, the cord will never slip out and unplug the item.



Soda Cans

Most people find the tab on a can annoying after they’ve opened the can but if you use a straw, there’s another use. Thread the straw through the hole in the tab and the straw won’t try and float out of the can altogether.



Tic Tacs

We’ve all had the frustration of shaking a tic tac container and are barely able to get one out. Instead, just gently tip the tic tac onto the open lid and you’ll find yourself happier.



Aluminum Foil

We’ve all fought the rather annoying battle with aluminum foil where we couldn’t unroll it and keep the roll from coming out of the box. We shouldn’t have been fighting that battle since there is actually a tab on each side of the box we can push in and have the roll held in place.

Beer Bottles

Beer Bottles should always be held by the neck as it gives you a better grip. While this might seem like a no-brainer, there are plenty of people who hold it by the body of the bottle. Besides not having as good a grip, this will actually warm up the beer in the bottle.



Greek Yogurt

Greek Yogurt containers are actually meant to be folded over, so you can more easily mix the yogurt and the topping. Most people still manually scoop one side or the other.



Chinese Takeout Boxes

Did you know there’s a reason why almost all Chinese takeout boxes are folded the way they are? If you unfold them, they are meant to be plates.



Non-Stop Elevators

If you want to get to your floor without stopping, most elevators have a non-stop function. If you press and hold the close door and your floor buttons at the same time, the elevator will go to your floor without picking up any other riders.
