British Army paratrooper, Levinson Wood, was trekking across Africa though 4,250 miles of wilderness when he heard a little animal crying in a bush fire. He knew that if he didn’t stop the fire would claim the tiny animal.
He couldn’t help but rescue the creature who turned out to be a tiny baby Vervet monkey. Lev and his companion, Boston, were able to rescue her out of a burning tree that the little monkey was clinging desperately to. Lev then treks with the baby monkey on his back during the scorching heat of the day to make sure the animal was brought to safety at a nearby animal sanctuary. You can tell Lev grew quite fond of the little animal and had a tough time giving “Florence” away.
