A writer is claiming he has finally solved one of the biggest criminal mysteries in the entire world, let alone the United Kingdom where it had happened so many years ago. The man, Bruce Robinson, says he has cracked the case of Jack the Ripper.
Robinson is the author behind Withnail and I, and has spent 15 years studying the Jack the Ripper case for his written works. He claims the killer was actually a prominent singer-songwriter known as Michael Maybrick. The killer was said to have been protected by the local police, and that is the only reason he evaded capture for so long.
Jack the Ripper is known for having killed five prostitutes, but the murders of Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes are the two that captured Robinson’s attention. Both of them are said to have died within an hour of each other on September 30th, 1888.
Robinson said: “We’ve got this rampaging maniac in the East End, but it suddenly occurred to me – what if they didn’t want to catch him? Is there any mileage there? Let’s go down that street.”
Michael Maybrick’s brother, James, is said to have written a diary entry confessing to the murders, but this was dismissed as nothing more than a hoax. Robinson truly believes this entry was written by Michael instead.
