Recently, there has been a host of announcements about brand new
theme parks based on a variety of subjects such as Pokemon, video games
and Star Wars. A Chinese firm, though, is arguably creating the
strangest theme park as they intend to build a complex that is devoted
entirely to British teddy bears.
The joint venture will see the
attraction built in a brand new town south of Beijing that has been
specially designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. It
will cost almost $8 million to construct, with cover 1,000 acres and
will try to accommodate up to 250,000 visitors a year.
The theme
of British teddy bears has been chosen because of how popular British
culture is in China, with shows such as Sherlock becoming huge hits.
Bears based on historical and fictional figures from the UK have proved
to be incredibly successful already and the companies involved in
building the theme park believe that that success will translate, with
attractions such as Shakespeare plays performed by giant teddy bears.
